Toby To Receive Will Rogers Spirit Award
Toby Keith has been selected as the recipient of the 2008 Will Rogers Spirit Award. He shares, "Will Rogers was a great American and a great Oklahoman, and I'm honored to be given an award bearing his name." Toby will be the guest of honor at "Patriotic Country," the Will Rogers Rotary Club Gala dinner and reception on November 4 in Tulsa. Keith's support of Ally's House, which helps Oklahoma kids with cancer and their families, is just one reason he was selected as this year's recipient. Toby, who was born in Clinton and now resides near Norman, is a proud Oklahoman, so the honor is especially meaningful. He explains, "I may make my living in Nashville and at concert arenas across the country, but I make my home in Oklahoma." You may recall last year Garth Brooks was honored with the Will Rogers Spirit Award.
