Toby Performing Special Song At ACMs

Toby Keith has partnered with ACM Lifting Lives – the ACM's philanthropic arm - to raise money to benefit cancer research. The charity selected this year is Stand Up To Cancer. With this, Keith will perform "Cryin' For Me (Wayman's Song)" during the broadcast of The 45th Annual ACM Awards on Sunday, April 18 on CBS. Toby wrote the tune in memory of his friend and fellow musician, Wayman Tisdale, who passed away unexpectedly last May from complications of cancer treatments. Keith shares, "Wayman was an amazing guy. In the song there's a line that says 'he showed us how to live and now he showed me how to die.' Both of those were true. He didn't frown on people for how they live, he led by example. He showed you how you're supposed to live and he died with so much dignity." Toby adds, "I am happy to partner with ACM Lifting Lives and SU2C to donate proceeds of the performance downloads to support this important cause."
Fans can now pre-order Keith's performance on the iTunes Store, and after the show they can download the audio and video. All proceeds will benefit Stand Up To Cancer. For more info, visit LiftingLives.org.
