The former half of country duo Brooks & Dunn, Ronnie Dunn is set to release his first solo album in 25 years (post-split) on June 7.

Ronnie's debut single, "Bleed Red," from his self-titled album is already in the Top 15 on the charts and still climbing. He produced the CD and either wrote or co-wrote eight out of the twelve tracks on the album.

Although he didn't pen the first single, he knew right away that the song would be a hit. "The song picked me," Ronnie told The Boot. "I had the record, it was finished. I was good to go. I thought I was headed to the honky-tonks and beer joints to kick out a few lights, and it drops out of the sky at the last moment."

Ronnie will appear for the first time as a solo artist at next month's ACM Awards. He is the headlining act for the ACM Weekend on Fremont Street Experience April 2, and will also perform his current single during the awards ceremony.

The 46th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will air live from Las Vegas April 3 at 8:00 PM ET on CBS.
