Miranda Lambert Forms All-Girl Trio: Pistol Annies

Miranda Lambert has formed a new girl group, featuring her pals and songwriting partners, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley.
The girly trio are called Pistol Annies, and they made their debut during the taping of the Academy of Country Music's 'Girls' Night Out' television special in Las Vegas Monday night.
Don't worry - Miranda isn't giving up her solo gig. She told the audience that she "put this together as my backup plan."
"I started this new project, and we're gonna debut on the Girls' Night Out [special]," the country cutie told The Boot backstage at Sunday night's ACM Awards. "And I can't say too much about it, because I want it to be a surprise."
She did reveal this info, though: "It's a girl named Angaleena Presley from East Kentucky and Ashley Monroe, and they're both artists on their own and they're great friends of mine. We've just been writing songs like crazy, and I always wanted to do a girl project. It's not your typical girl trio. We definitely have an edge. [laughs] We sing a lot about housewives."
There's no word yet on whether the Pistol Annies will record an album together, but you can catch the ladies - who already have a Facebook page and official website - in action when the Academy of Country Music's 'Girls' Night Out: Superstar Women of Country - The Concert of the Year' airs April 22 at 9:00 PM ET on CBS.
