Melissa Lawson Wins Nashville Star!
America has voted, and Melissa Lawson is the newest Nashville Star! On last night's finale episode of the hit NBC show, it all came down to Melissa, a 32-year-old working mother of five, and Hispanic Texas native Gabe Garcia as the final two. Shawn Mayer, dubbed "the comeback kid" by her mentor Jeffrey Steele, was eliminated early in the evening. After host Billy Ray Cyrus announced Melissa as the winner, she shared her victory with all of her supporters, including her husband and five kids sitting in the audience, and thanked everyone who voted for her. She then closed out the night by performing her brand new single, appropriately titled "What If It All Goes Right." The song has been sent to country radio and is now available for purchase through NBC.com.
