On Saturday, John Rich and his wife, Joan, opened up their home to throw the annual Vanderbilt University Dance Marathon Holiday Party for "Miracle Families" - those whose lives have beeen touched by Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at  Vanderbilt.

The party was a celebration for the Vanderbilt students and Miracle Families who serve as ambassadors for Vanderbilt University Dance Marathon, the largest student-run philanthropic organization at the university.

Before the festivities began, John shared, "Family is such an important part of my life and I know that especially around the holidays, it can be difficult for families who have loved ones in the hospital. I admire everything the Children's Hospital does on a daily basis or those families and want to do my part in spreading the cheer this holiday season."

The party included decorating gingerbread houses, Christmas stories, dancing and a visit from Santa amd Mrs. Claus.

John said he plays to match the top student fundraiser's total, up to $10,000.
