Jerrod Niemann, the JaneDear Girls & Thompson Square Talk CMA Nominations
The final nominees in five of the 12 CMA Awards categories were made live on "Good Morning America" recently with The Band Perry and Jake Owen delivering the news. Finalists in the other seven categories were announced by Jerrod Niemann, the JaneDear Girls and Thompson Square from the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and Yallwire was there to help celebrate!
Host Stephanie Langston caught up with a few of the artists to hear their reaction of this year's nominees.
Thrilled to receive their first CMA nominations, husband-wife duo Thompson Square reveal how surprised they were to be up for Vocal Duo of the Year and New Artist of the Year. "You hope for things, but you don't expect it, and we definitely didn't expect it," Keifer said.
Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean and Keith Urban are up for the prestigious Entertainer of the Year Award, and their fellow country tourmates agree how difficult it is to choose only one artist to take home the trophy.
Sharing how great it feels to have toured with two of the big nominees, Jerrod Niemann jokes, "Being out with Brad and Blake Shelton, you can kind of learn what to do on stage with Brad Paisley and what not to do backstage with Blake Shelton. That's pretty much how I sum up that tour."
Rooting for all of the nominees, the JaneDear Girls exclaim, "We had such a blast with Jason Aldean at the beginning of the year and now we're out with Brad, and they're all such great guys and I hope they all win - it's really hard to pick one."
Country music's biggest night will be hosted for the fourth time by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood and will be broadcasted from Nashville on November 9, 2011.
