George Strait Nominated For Five CMA Awards

George Strait received five CMA nods this morning including "Entertainer Of The Year", "Album Of The Year" for Troubador and "Male Vocalist Of The Year". The #1 single "I Saw God Today" is up for "Single Of The Year" and its songwriters (Rodney Clawson, Monty Criswell and Wade Kirby) and primary publisher (Big Red Toe, Extremely Loud Music, Steel Wheels Music and Blind Mule Music) are eligible for "Song Of The Year". Strait will also vie for a trophy in the "Musical Event Of The Year" category for his duet with Kenny Chesney on "Shiftwork".
"I'm sitting down here in south Texas bracing for hurricane Ike. This really brightens my day," said Strait. I look forward to a great celebration of our great music. Thanks to all involved!"
