Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood Attend the Travolta Memorial

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood were among the celebrity guests who attended the memorial service for John Travolta and Kelly Preston's son Jett last Thursday in the family's hometown of Ocala, Florida. Brooks' fans may not be aware that he and Travolta have been friends for years.
In fact, back in September of 1999 when Garth was promoting his Chris Gaines Greatest Hits project, he talked about his relationship with John:
"The only cat that's heard this is Travolta because we spend time together out on the West Coast. I'm not droppin' names. He's just a sweetheart and our relationship has gotten real close. And he came in and heard this and just flipped out. He was so happy. And he kept punchin' me. He goes, 'That's you!' I said, 'Yeah, that's me!' He just loved it. He was very sweet. He gave me a lot of confidence."
Travolta's son died of a seizure disorder January 2 while the family was vacationing in Grand Bahamas. The Ocala Star-Banner reports that some of the other stars who came to pay their respects were Lisa Marie Presley, James Gandolfini, Kirstie Alley and Forest Whitaker. Many fans offered their condolences by leaving cards and flowers with the guards who were posted at the entrance of the Travoltas' neighborhood.
