Exclusive Interview With Teea Goans

Host Stephanie Langston got the chance to sit down with CRS newcomer Teea Goans to talk about her landing her dream job hosting a show for The Opry, releasing her debut album and shooting her music video for her second single.

The country singer - who grew up Missouri but has called Nashville 'home' for the past decade - claims that she has been a fan of  classic country music and country radio since she was a child. With some hard work and dedication, Teea landed a job doing promotions for WSM (The Opry radio station) after moving to Nashville several years ago.

After dominating promotions and dabbling in production, the country music lover was asked to host her own show, Inside The Opry, which gives a fan's perspective from backstage after The Grand Ole Opry's Saturday night shows. Teea tell us that it's great to get to know the country artists that have been idols and mentors to her growing up.

Teea is excited to release her debut album, The Way I Remember It, a very traditional country sound full of fiddle and steel guitar and comparable to the Alan Jackson/George Strait style of country music.

"I'm very proud of it," Teea says about the album. "I'm just trying to get that music out to a different generation. I feel like there are a lot of people - even my age - that aren't familiar with that kind of country music and that's really what kind of built the country music that we know now and I'm hoping to bring it back out into the world."

To hear more from Teea about her debut album, some hints about her upcoming music video for her second single "Letter From God" and how she feels about the important relationship between artist and radio, check out this exclusive interview from CRS 2011!
