Exclusive Interview With Sunny Sweeney
Yallwire was there to help celebrate the CD release party for country singer Sunny Sweeney at Roosters in Nashville! Host Stephanie Langston caught up with Sweeney to learn more about the idea behind her hit single "From A Table Away," her songwriting strategies and getting close to her fans.
While a CD release party is normally about the artist, sweet Sunny Sweeney - a Texan born and raised - turned the event into a benefit to help victims of the fires that occurred around Austin, Texas, by auctioning off banners from her CD release week that she and her band autographed.
Sweeney's single "From A Table Away" has been a huge hit, achieving the statistic of being one of the highest charting new female singles since Taylor Swift's "Tim McGraw." The country singer-songwriter - who wrote 7 of the 10 songs on Concrete - came up with the idea for "From A Table Away" when she saw the situation actually unfold at a restaurant. "I like writing stories," Sweeney says about writing songs based on real life. "I like writing things that people can come up to me and go, 'I've been through that.' That's what we - as writers - want."
