Exclusive Interview With Justin Moore
Yallwire host Stephanie Langston was able to sit down with country boy Justin Moore to chat about the release of his new album, Outlaws Like Me, the making of his video and how he manages life on the road as a new dad.
Justin claims that - believe it or not - his new album is a little bit more 'country' than his debut album as a result of becoming a dad, a better person and better husband. "The fact that I went through more things and became an adult changed the dynamic a little bit," the country singer says. "But it has still got the rowdy, party, fun songs, too."
Going on about the recently released project, Justin shares, "I wanted to put out an album that I thought people could listen to 20 years from now, and I think we made one. I'm very, very proud of it, so I hope everybody else likes it just as well as I do."
Although he drinks whiskey "all the time," Justin doesn't quite consider himself an outlaw. Regardless, he shares that "Outlaws Like Me" is his favorite song he's ever written, claiming that it sounds like a "classic country song."
Justin's single "If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away" is the singer's fastest rising single, which he blames on the song's story being so personal. "This one doing so well I think is because it's so personal to people. I've learned through songs like "Small Town" and "Backwoods" or whatever that if it's personal to me, then it's personal to a lot of other people, as well, and I think that's why this song has done so well in such a short period of time."
Previously on tour with Miranda Lambert and on a summer tour with Rascal Flatts, Justin is getting some great exposure while on the road with some of country music's biggest artists. However, he admits that it is difficult to manage being a husband and father while touring.
