Exclusive Interview With Australian Country Trio The McClymonts
The top selling Australian Country Group in 2010, The McClymonts recently released their new album "Wrapped Up Good" in the US. The sisters caught up with Yallwire host Stephanie Langston to talk about their album, their recent move to Nashville and their upcoming Opry debut.
The sister trio recently made the big move from Australia to Nashville and are excited to be promoting their album that went Top 5 down under!
The first four singles they released in Australia went No. 1, but the girls confess it's their single "Wrapped Up Good" that is their favorite tune on the disc. Describing the song as "fun and energetic," the sisters share how much fun they had filming the music video for the song at an Aussie racetrack.
The sibling threesome - who grew up listening to Dolly Parton, The Eagles and The Judds - went on the road with country star Jason Aldean last year, where they got their first taste in touring on a bus and performing at fairs and festivals. After a successful time on the road, The McClymont ladies' dream came true as they made their debut at the Grand Ole Opry!
Like most aspiring musicians and musical groups, The McClymonts faced some bumps in the road that only increased their motivation, like when a record executive told them that a girl group wouldn't translate well to country music's more female-based audience. Proving that executive wrong, the girls say, "We speak from a girl's perspective and that's what they want to hear and they can relate to it. So we just wanted to get out there and play our music and let the fans decide if they like us or not."
