Eric Church Interview: Carolina Goes Gold!
Eric Church threw a party after striking gold with his album, Carolina, which is officially Gold-certified having sold over 500,000 units. Yallwire host Stephanie Langston caught up with Eric at the soiree in downtown Nashville.
Regarding the success of the album, Eric says, "I have a huge reverence for country music and to be able to have a Gold record like a lot of the 'greats' who inspired what I do - it's a very humbling and great thing."
The single was shot at the Tennessee State Prison - an famous deserted jail house that is said to be haunted. "We were looking for a place that had this heaviness...that could really draw a great picture of how serious [prison is]." Eric even claims that he might have experienced some creepy hauntings during the shoot after the sun went down!
A story about one brother helping another brother realize that he is on the wrong path, Eric claims that many people can relate to the story behind "Homeboy." "At some point and time we're all on the wrong path, whether you realize it yourself or somebody helps you realize it," the country singer says about the subject. "I love the honesty and the sentiment between the two brothers."
