Ashton Shepherd Is Back With 'Look It Up'
After a three-year hiatus, Ashton Shepherd is back!
The Alabama native busted into the music scene back in 2007 with her first hit single "Takin' Off This Pain" from her debut album Sounds So Good. The single and CD earned rave reviews, but the country singer decided to take some time off to work on new songs.
The wife and mother is wrapping up her sophomore album, and she's ready to share the first single, "Look It Up," with her anxious fans.
"Look It Up" is a fun, upbeat track that any woman who has ever been fed up with a cheatin', lyin', no-good man can relate to.
"'Look It Up' is a song about somebody who is officially done with something to the point that they really are over it," Ashton says. "It's almost like they aren't that mad anymore, just ready to be through with it, just done. 'Done' is a good word."
Ashton also claims that the single is the perfect song to set the tone for the new album. "People are having so much fun with it," she continues. "They are embracing the thought of somebody being in that place in their life that the song is describing, which is wonderful. Everybody's reactions have been very positive, and they're laughing and clapping their hands and just tickled over it. I'm left smiling after singing it because people are grabbing a hold of it."
Ashton gives you an inside look at the making of the music video for "Look It Up" in this interview, where you can see the country cutie "playing dress up" with the clothes for the shoot, mastering her acting skills and showin' off some sass!

The new CD, which will included songs by Rhett Atkins, Dallas Davidson and Bobby Pinson, should hit shelves later this year, so keep an eye out!
