Brad Paisley is leading the race for CMA awards with 6 nominations. Keith Urban, Jamey Johnson, George Strait, Taylor Swift, and Zac Brown Band each received four nominations. Newcomer Darius Rucker and Leeanne Womackare also nominated for a few awards: Rucker for New Artist and Womack for Musical Event of the Year.
The awards will broadcast on ABC on Nov. 11.

Sugarland's first holiday album is set for release on Oct. 6. The album, Green and Gold, will have five original songs written by Jennifer Nettles and Kristain Bush and will contain quite a few classic Christmas songs.

Country singers, Montgomery Gentry, Lee Ann Womack and Phil Vassar are set to headline the 6th Annual American Freedom Festival, which is presented by the National Guard and Outback Steakhouse. The event will take place at The Patriot Center at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 7:30 p.m.
Ticket prices are between $34.50 - $99.00 with the members of the military receiving a special discounted ticket price of $25.00. Tickets will be available for purchase on Sept. 5, 2009.

Carrie Underwood is set to release her new album, Play On, on November 3. The title is a song off of the album. Carrie is currently still working with longtime producer Mark Bright.

Keith Urban is planning to have a large benefit concert in Nashville on Oct. 13. The concert will benefit All of the Hall project to aid the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Vince Gill will co-host this event and performers will include, Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley, Faith Hill, Jason Aldean, Little Big Town and Lady Antebellum. Additonal guests are expected to be announced.
The show will be held at the Sommet Center and tickets will be $25.00, available for purchase beginning Sept. 2 at 10:30 a.m.

The Zac Brown Band's latest album, The Foundation, has been certified platinum, for selling over one million copies. The album contains the hit singles, "Chicken Fried" and "Whatever it is."

Tammy Wynette, thanks to her song "Stand by Your Man," will be inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame on Oct. 18th. This comes eleven years after her death.
Also to be inducted are Kye Fleming, who wrote, " I Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool," performed by Barbara Mandrell, and Mark D. Sanders who wrote "I Hope You Dance," which was made famous by Lee Ann Womack.

Trace Adkins will play the role of a judge of a TV singing competition for an upcoming independent movie, Lifted. Adkins will play the role of Jimmy Knox, the guest judge of the ficitional competition, Teen Starquest. Currently the film is being shot in Birmingham, Alabama. Th efilm is expected to be released in September of 2010.
