This summer, Yallwire partnered with Music City Networks to bring fans coverage of the MCN Fan Club Concert Series during the CMA Music Festival. The series featured live performances from some of the best country artists on the circuit, including Sara Evans, Josh Turner, Montgomery Gentry, Tracy Lawrence, Tracy Byrd, Emerson Drive and Bucky Covington. With over 2,500 hardcore fans in attendance, Nashville hot spot Rocketown hosted the highly anticipated events, which intimately connected fans with their favorite artists.

Singer Mary Travers of the folk group Peter, Paul and Mary died Wednesday Sept. 16 at a hospital in Danburry, Conn., following a lengthy illness. Travers was 72 at the time of her death. Mary's cause of death was complications from chemotherapy that followed a bone-marrow transplant she received several years ago.

Gretchen Wilson will be awarded the National Coalition for Literacy Leadership Award during a reception on Sept. 16 at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C. Since receiving her high school equivalency diploma in 2008, Wilson has been actively involved in promoting literacy.

Taylor Swift won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Female Video for "You Belong With Me" on Sunday, Sept. 13. On stage, however, her acceptance speech was interrupted by Kayne West, who said Beyonce should have won for her "Single Ladies" video.
Beyonce went on to win Video of the Year for said video, and in a very classy move, called Taylor back on stage so she could have "her moment."Kayne has since publicly apologized to Taylor on the "Jay Leno Show."

Rodney Atkins has announced he will be hosting a hometown charity event on Oct. 8 in Cookeville, TN. The proceeds will benefit the Mustard Seed Ranch for neglected children, as well as the Tennessee Tech University
