Billy Powell

"Beloved pianist for the Lynyrd Skynyrd Band, Billy Powell, passed away last night. We have no further details.  The family and band request your respect and understanding during this difficult time. Thank you."

Lynyrd Skynyrd is canceling shows due to Billy’s passing. They hope to re-schedule the shows in the near future.  Please refer to www.lynyrdskynyrd.com for updates on touring.

Brad Paisley has added 41 tour dates beginning June 5 in Charlotte, NC, and ending October 17 in Palm Beach, FL.  Dierks Bentley and Jimmy Wayne will open the shows.  For a complete listing of tour dates, including the current Paisley Party tour, which ends in February with Bentley and Darius Rucker as openers, check out Brad Paisley's website

Taylor Swift

 

 

Taylor Swift topped Forbes' list of the "Top-Selling Musicians of 2008." The magazine gave her the top honor for selling more than four million albums. Other country stars included on the list are crossover act Kid Rock and Sugarland. Kid Rock is sixth with two-point-four million albums sold. Sugarland ranks eighth on the list selling more than two million albums in 2008.

Jason Aldean

 

Jason Aldean is hopeful one of his musical heroes, Alabama front man Randy Owen, will be a guest on his upcoming Wide Open CD, due in stores April 7. Jason tells USA Today  that Randy is planning to record vocals for a cover of the band's "My Home's in Alabama." Aldean shares, "I made my band learn and record it as true to the original track as possible, tried to get the same guitar tones, play the same licks." Wide Open also will include Jason's current single, "She's Country."
