Billy Currington’s fans will be glad to find out that his third album, Little Bit Of Everything, will land in stores October 14. Billy had a hand in writing five of the 12 tracks, and he co-produced the project. He shares, “People kept asking what kind of music they’d hear on this next album, whether it was going to be R&B, pop, country or rock, and I seemed to keep saying the same thing. It’s going to be a little bit of everything, I guess!” Currington has been busy finalizing the CD between tour dates, and he recently filmed the video for his new single, “Don’t,” in downtown Nashville.

Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson, Sara Evans, Brad Paisley and Josh Turner have all contributed to the movie soundtrack for Billy:The Early Years , which tells the story of Reverend Billy Graham. The 12-track album comes out October 7, three days before the film’s release. Evans’ track, titled “Low,” will be released as the project’s first single late next month. Also on the album are Brad’s instrumental version of “What A Friend We Have In Jesus,” and a collaboration between Brooks & Dunn and Third Day’s Mac Powell on Johnny Cash’s “Over The Next Hill.” Josh, who plays George Beverly Shea in the film, takes on the gospel classic “Almost Persuaded.” Alan’s musical talents appear in two ways on the CD. In addition to performing the song “Look At Me,” he wrote the music for “Ruth’s Prayer,” a poem written by Graham’s late wife and performed by Patty Griffin. Alan was inspired to write the tune after first seeing the poem in his copy of the Reverend Graham’s biography. Another highlight on the soundtrack is a duet of “Amazing Love” between Graham’s personal friend, Michael W. Smith, and American Idol finalist Melinda Doolittle.

Sugarland was among the artists performing at a kick-off concert for the Democratic National Convention in Denver over the weekend. However, they wouldn’t say whether or not they supported Democratic Presidential hopeful Barack Obama. According to Jennifer Nettles, the duo’s concern for the environment was the reason they played the event, which was organized by environmental activist Laurie David. Prior to the show, Nettles told AP, “This is the first time that a political convention of any sort has been surrounded with the awareness of environmental issues. So that feels like it’s on the cutting edge.” Kristian Bush added, “Yeah, and regardless of what political affiliation you want to align yourself with, this is an issue. It’s real, no matter which side you decide to attack it from.” Sheryl Crow and Dave Matthews were also on the bill.
Meanwhile, Sugarland has already found another cause worth playing for as they join Reba McEntire and Kid Rock as the newest additions to the lineup of talent performing on Jerry Lewis’ Annual Labor Day MDA Telethon.

Now we know who Julianne Hough’s partner will be for the seventh season of Dancing With the Stars. She will be paired with Cody Linley, who played “Jake Ryan,” one of “Hannah Montana’s” boyfriends. At 18, he is the youngest celebrity ever to compete on the show. Julianne won the competition in the season finale in seasons four and five. Yesterday the other celebrity dancers were announced as well. The list includes Susan Lucci,Toni Braxton, Lance Bass, Kim Kardashian, Cloris Leachman, (who at age 82 is the oldest contestant so far), Ted McGinley,Brooke Burke, comedian Jeffrey Ross, football player Warren Sapp, chef Rocco DiSpirito, and two Olympic athletes - beach volleyball player Misty May-Treanor and runner Maurice Greene.
Julianne shares why she thinks Dancing With The Stars has been such a success:
“Everybody loves to dance. I don’t care who you are, how old you are, if you’re a horrible dancer, if you’re a great dancer… There’s just hidden passions for that. So, to see celebrities who people think so highly of and think don’t ever have any flaws, you know, you get to see them and their personalities come out, and see them totally out of their element - mess up and get frustrated and look silly. And, you know, they’re human - I think people like that.” -

On Friday night, in Dolly Parton’s native East Tennessee, a rumor started circulating that Dolly had passed away of congestive heart failure. The rumor spread like wildfire, even getting to Fox News, which actually reported she had died with a news flash on the bottom of the screen. Thankfully, the rumor had no truth to it, as Dolly is alive and well and taking a break from touring at her home in Nashville. Parton’s Dollywood publicist, Pete Owens, told TV station WBIR that his office, just like the TV station, had been flooded with calls. Nashville’s WSMV-TV, said they have also received calls asking about Dolly’s fate. Owens said he believes the rumor may have started Friday night. Apparently, a local high school announced Parton’s death during its football game. Owens said he spoke with Dolly on Saturday, and she decided against releasing an official statement confirming that she is indeed alive.

Adam Gregory’s debut U.S. single, “Crazy Days,” will officially launch in digital format on Tuesday, August 26, the same day the rising star makes his first appearance on the Grand Ole Opry.
The eSingle, video and mobile versions of “Crazy Days” will all be made available for purchase digitally at iTunes and other major digital outlets next week. The song has shown continual growth on the charts since its debut fifteen weeks ago, breaking into the Top 20 this week on Music Row and steadily climbing through the Thirties on the Country Aircheck and R&R charts.
His first ever appearance on the Opry is also set for Tuesday, August 26, where he will perform along with Chuck Wicks, Steve Wariner, Bill Anderson and Riders In The Sky at the Grand Ole Opry House. Gregory is scheduled to perform three songs at 7:15 p.m.
Gregory’s recent alignment with labels Big Machine, No Strings Attached and Midas Records has bolstered the exposure and response to “Crazy Days.” In addition to its progress on the radio charts, the video has seen significant airplay thus far from Artist and Fans Network on DirectTV, Music Mix USA, Music Choice, CMT and GAC. It can also be seen on mainstream retail reels such as Beauty Brands and Ashley Furniture in over 300 store locations nationwide.
Gregory’s yearlong, hectic schedule continues with a whirlwind trip back to his native Canada, where he will serve as a co-presenter at the Canadian Country Music Association Awards Sept. 8. He then returns to the road and his radio tour, which has been extended due to the overwhelming response he has received on his visits in the last several months.

Toby Keith recently praised Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama when asked about the role of patriotism in the current presidential election. Toby told AP, “There’s a big part of America that really believes that there is a war on terrorism, and that we need to finish up. So I thought it was beautiful the other day when Obama went to Afghanistan and got educated about Afghanistan and Iraq. He came back and said some really nice things.” Toby continued, “So as far as leadership and patriotism goes, I think it’s really important that those things have to take place. And I think he’s the best Democratic candidate we’ve had since Bill Clinton. And that’s coming from a Democrat.”
