Tonight, Trace Adkins continues his journey to become The Celebrity Apprentice in a special two-hour episode titled “The Croc and The Rat,” beginning on NBC at 9 PM, ET. Disloyalty, double crossing, and spying all come into play as the remaining celebrities work to create a campaign for Crocs’ “Soles United” shoe donation program. Hydra team members Piers Morgan and Vinny Pastore get into an explosive fight, and then one team member pretends to defect to Team Empresario – but is really a spy for the men. In the boardroom, the truth of the previous 24 hours comes to light. Trace hints that tonight’s show will be very interesting as the accusations are rampant: “Sparks are really gonna fly. I’m not gonna give much away, but some lines were drawn and some lines were crossed. There was excitement, dissention in the ranks. It got pretty ugly at times. It was crazy. It really was. It really got nuts. I promise you, you won’t be disappointed.”

Taylor Swift was relieved to find out that the Writers’ Guild of America struck an interim deal with Grammy producers, ensuring the show would move forward despite the ongoing writers’ strike. Nominated in the Best New Artist category, Taylor told a Nashville’s WKRN-TV that she will be donning a big dress, noting, “I really like the big huge dresses that everyone’s stepping on and apologizing tome.” However, Taylor’s not so sure she will win the trophy. She said, “Amy Winehouse will probably win, right? She’s nominated for like everything, so I’m assuming she’s just gonna win, ya know?” Other nominees in Taylor’s category include Paramore, Feist and Ledisi.
The 50th Annual Grammy Awards will be held February 10.

Alan Jackson will give fans what they’ve come to expect on his upcoming CD, Good Time. He tells Billboard.com, “I always come back to what I came to Nashville to do, and that’s make traditional-sounding country music. This album bounces back to that.”

Included on the CD are Alan’s current single, “Small Town Southern Man,” which sits just outside the Top 10 on this week’s country charts, and a duet with Martina McBride titled “Never Loved Before.” Of the collaboration, Alan humbly shares, “A lot of people wouldn’t want to sing with me, I imagine, but Martina has toured with me. She’s one of the best female singers out there. It’s a fun song with a light lyric.”
For the first time in his career, Alan is the sole writer of every track on his new album. Look for it to arrive in stores on March 4.

Jack Ingram’s recent family vacation was a little like a Griswald family vacation movie. Jack, his wife, their three kids and five nieces and nephews spent a week at a Colorado ski lodge. He shares, “There were tears galore because the kids didn’t want to wear their gloves. And you know, five minutes outside in the snow meant an hour of getting everyone ready. So most of the vacation, it seems, was dressing children and then holding them as they took their soaking wet snow gear off screaming! Don’t get me wrong, they all had a ball, and I even got to hit the slopes a bit.”
Fresh from vacation, Jack is heading north to open Martina McBride’s “Waking Up Laughing Tour” this weekend.

Vince Gill is among artists who seem relieved to hear news that Hollywood’s striking writers will not picket at this year’s Grammy Awards. Gill tells The Tennessean, “I don’t know if I was going to cross. I’m a writer for a living. In my heart of hearts I think they’ll get this settled. It was kind of ironic though: You get nominated for a big award and then you go, ‘Dang, I don’t know if we’re going to get to go to this party.’” The decision would have been a much simpler one for Taylor Swift. She says, “This is my first nomination, it’s a huge deal for me. If they had the Grammys, I was going to go.” While the show is set to go on as planned, it has yet to be determined whether or not union writers will be allowed to work on the ceremony.

Billy Ray Cyrus’ daughter Miley Cyrus apparently has concert-goers upset over the use of a body double in her live show. During one of her songs on stage, “Hannah Montana” transforms into Miley and uses a double to make the switch, during which Miley’s vocals are not live. After hearing that fans were angry, and one fan complaining she was being “played for a fool,” Miley’s rep made this statement: “To help speed the transition from Hannah to Miley, there is a production element during the performance of ‘We Got the Party’ incorporating a body double for Miley. After Hannah ha completed the featured verse on the duet with the Jonas Brothers, a body double appears approximately one to two minutes prior to the end of the song in order to allow Miley to remove the Hannah wig and costume and transform into Miley for her solo set. Other than during this very brief transitional moment in the show, Miley performs live during the entirety of both the Hannah and Miley segments of the concert.”
