You may recall that a couple of weeks ago Billy Ray Cyrus - through a magazine interview - reached out to troubled Britney Spears, offering her a nice, calm Nashville Thanksgiving. That started the Britney Spears-is-coming-to-Nashville rumors, fueled by the fact that appointments were made for Britney and Billy Ray’s Hannah Montana daughter, Miley Cyrus, for the A Moment’s Peace salon, but only Miley showed at the day spa. According to Nashville’s WKRN-TV, Britney didn’t make it to Music City at all.

Shania Twain, who took five years off from her career, is about to step back into the spotlight. In the December issue of Redbook, she shares, “I struggled a lot internally with my fame, and coping with it has been very difficult. I was at the point where I would never look anyone in the eye. It was like living in prison.”
After retreating to her chateau in Switzerland with her husband and son, Shania is ready to re-emerge. In addition to being mom to her 6-year-old, promoting a new perfume and working on an album due that’s due out next year, Twain says she’s learning to look after herself. She elaborates, “I’m not such a slave to pleasing everyone, which I think is a female tendency. I take more time for myself; that’s a very big part of mental, emotional and physical health.” As for getting back into public life, Shania says, “I’m not naturally a spotlight person … [But] I don’t mind being the center of attention in a controlled, comfortable environment.”She adds that music is an integral part of her life, and she wants “to write and record things that affect people in a positive way.” So what does the future hold for Twain? She jokes, “I’ll probably be in the Canadian wilderness somewhere.”

Miranda Lambert says that she experiences a new side to her persona when Thanksgiving comes around each year:
“I get really domestic during holidays and it’s kind of weird ‘cause it’s so opposite of who I am on stage. I love to bake cookies and cook dinner for the whole family… I mean, I really…that’s my time to just get ultra girly and I love holidays. And also it’s my time off usually because there’s not really a lot going on during holidays and so I really get to spend time with people I really care about.”

Rebekah Nickerson has wanted to see Garth Brooks in concert since she heard one of his CDs eight years ago, and now thanks to Garth and the Make A Wish Foundation, her dream has come true - twice! The Peoria Journal Star reports that Rebekah, her parents and her two brothers met Brooks in his dressing room before one of his recent Kansas City shows. Garth had his staff take the family shopping through the concert hall, where they picked up free T-shirts, CDs and key chains. He then invited them to a sound check, where Rebekah got to play the drums, tambourine and sing with him before he invited them to that night’s show as well. During that second show, he spotted Rebekah in the crowd and sang “We Shall Be Free” to her because it’s one of her favorite songs. Rebekah says she was “a little bit nervous” about meeting Garth and loves to dance to his songs. Her father was most impressed with the way the superstar took so much time to make Rebekah feel special, noting, “For whatever reason, he chose to spend the bulk of the afternoon making this one little girl from a small central Illinois town happy.” -
