Rascal Flatts visited Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt on September 12. The group perforemed an acoustic set for 35 children. Lyric Street Records, Rasacal Flatts label, was also able to provide some very popular Disney characters for the kids. The group took pictures, signed aurographs, and vitied childrens hosptial rooms after completeing their set. September 22 they will be performing in Nashville and will donate proceeds to the hospital.

September 7, 2006--The 2006 NFL season begins tonight with the Miami Dolphins playing the Pittsburgh Steelers--and country music will be well-represented. The half-time show will feature performances from Rascal Flatts, Martina McBride and the PovertyNeck Hillbillies. And though Tim McGraw won't be there, he tells X Radio that he's definitely ready for some football. Tim says when it comes to one of his favorite teams, the Tennessee Titans, he'd like to be more than just a fan--he'd like to own the team.
"I would love to be involved with the Titans," says Tim. "I grew up being an athlete, playing football and baseball and basketball, and if I could get away with it, I'd still play now if it wouldn't kill me. But I would love to be a part of it for a lot of reasons, [including] my dad playing pro baseball. It's just something that's always gonna be a big part of my life, so to be involved in it at a level like that would be great."
September 7, 2006--The Tennessean reports that Toby Keith's Broken Bridges co-star, Burt Reynolds, has given Toby a big thumbs-up.
"He told my acting coach and me, 'You win because you've got some kind of appeal that breaks through those critical masses. That is that special something,'" Toby tells the paper.
Burt told Toby, "Now, to be a leading man, you can either be charming or very dangerous, but you have to be one or the other. Most leading men don't make it if they don't have one of those traits. Very few have both; John Wayne had both. I was never very dangerous, but I was charming--wouldn't you say?"
After Toby agreed, Burt continued, "Tom Cruise doesn't frighten me with a samurai sword, but you frighten me with a fork."
Toby says, "I grinned real big, just laughing at him, and he said, 'See how charming you are?' I said, 'Thank you, Burt.' As he walked off, my acting coach goes, 'Do you know how priceless that is?'"
