7/16 is my 45th birthday. been out of work for 6 months. This would be the best birthday I have ever had. I live for country music. Simple down to earth people, doing what we must to survive. We tell the stories of our lives in our songs. When you think your down and out, there is always someone that has it worse than you do. So I get up each day and try to put a smile on someones face for the day. Even if I have to make an ass out of myself to do it. Live is short. You must live while you can. O and put a smile on someones face today. It will make you feel better.

I have loved Merle Haggard forever. One day at work (I worked at a nursing home at the time, Merle was on tv singing so I was on the west wing and put every channel on with Merle. Little did I know my best friend went upstairs to get the administrator. As I was dancing in the hall I turned around and there he was standing there with his arms folded and a smirk on his face. I had to shut the tv's off.

I haven't had an opportunity to see either of these two Country Stars ! I haven't been to Charter Amphitheatre in Greenville/Simpsonville, South Carolina. I have been trying to decide what to do and where to go on vacation this summer. Winning these concert tickets would easily solve my decisive dilema. How Country Music Saved Me

OK ?saved? might not be the right word. We save ourselves, other people, and Jesus is the Savior. However, those who haven?t been where I?ve been don?t quite understand the immense relief that follows a country girl?s heart and the music that fills it.

There have been tough times and darker days. I recall flipping to that country radio station and the songs that beckon hope, strength and resilience. The lyrics and sounds are familiar, a homecoming each and every time.

Thank God for Country Music, the people that write it, produce it, sing its melodies, and play it on free radio...that brings me home. And to believing in something bigger than all of us, even when the simple sounds of a ballad, an instrument or an artist can bring comfort and peace to someone who needed it so very badly.

I just read all of the comments-I should have done so before writing my "why I deserve to win" comment because I would have never wrote it. I think RitaHawkes214 should win the tickets and auction them off in memory of that young man who lost hi battle with lymphoma. God bless his family, and all who have to suffer thru losing a child.

I love Miranda Lambert's music; her song "The House That Built Me" has helped me thru some pretty tough moments. I have PTSD, and when I "trigger", I go back to that moment and time the trama happened- while in the midst of a "trigger", her song came on and I was able to focus on the words and I was able to get through that moment ( the song rewminds me of my daddy). So, I would love to have the chance tell her that her music touches lives in ways she can't imagine, and she helped me in a very difficult moment.

I am too old to be missin' out on some Merle Haggard & too young not to wanna see some Miranda Lambert,I got tickets to go see Merle in Huntsville,Al. on July 30th,I did not have the extra cash to buy a ticket for myself so a cousin of mine bought me a ticket so I would have the chance to see Merle while he is still around & able to perform(he is gettin' on up there in years) & I am a big,big fan of the pretty Miss Miranda Lambert (oops!! Mrs. Blake Shelton) so I would love to have the chance to see her for sure.

Wow! I absolutely love Miranda Lambert. I started watching her when she was on Nashville Star several years ago.

I have always love Miranda & Merle & I've never had the funds to be able to go to a concert. I've got 2 kids & I take care of 2 others & my everything goes into making sure they have everything they need to succeed in life & education.
